Company Information

On the 22nd of July 1912, the Philippine National Bank (PNB) was first established as a government-owned institution. The first headquarters was located in the Masonic Temple along Escolta, Manila, which was then known as the Wall Street of the Philippines. In 1916, PNB replaced the Php 1 Million government-owned Agricultural Bank, and since then, the Filipinos have had a bank that they called their own.

Back then, PNB was authorized to provide short-term and long-term to the agricultural industry, offering interests at 8% to 10% per annum. In 1916, they first branched out in Iloilo, in 1917 they opened a branch in New York. They opened a few more branches the next year in the Philippines and then in Shanghai, China.

In the 1990s, PNB was privatized with Mr. Lucio Tan owning 35% of the total outstanding capital stock. Since 1912, PNB has gone a long way to now offering universal products for its retail and corporate clients.

PNB is regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and its main office is located at Philippine National Bank Financial Center, Pres. Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City. Their customer care can be contacted at any time of the day at (+632) 8573 8888 or an email to be sent at [email protected]
